Cheap Eats - Part 2

White Castle

Can you believe it?  White Castle, not only open late, but you don't have to leave your home, and you know what is in the meat.

Last week we made Egg McMuffins.  You can find them HERE.

White Castle Burgers -

You will need:

1 1/2lbs Ground Beef (I like 95% ground beef, or you could also use ground turkey.)

12 Dinner Rolls

6 Slices of Cheese (optional)

1/4 Cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese

Dried Onion Flakes

Pepper to Taste

9X13in Pyrex, or Similar Glass Rectangular Dish

Directions:

Preheat your oven to 400 degree F.  While that is heating grease your dish; I like the spray stuff by Crisco, it works best for us.

Then sprinkle the dried onion flakes into the bottom of the dish to create a light covering.

Next you are going to smash the burger into the dish until evenly spread.

Bake for 20 minutes.  After you remove the burger from the oven blot the extra grease off the top with a cloth or paper towel.

Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the cooked burger and then lay the 6 slices of cheese on the top so the burger is covered.

Turn the oven off and put the burger back into the oven for an additional 5 minutes.

Once the cheese is melted you can use a pizza cutter to cut the burger into 12 square patties.

Assemble burgers and add veggies and condiments to taste.

EXTRAS

ReHeating -

These fit nicely 2 in sandwich size ziplock bag for later eating.  Microwave for 15-20 seconds from the refrigerator.  These keep well up to 3 days.
