What are Lunchables?
Lunchables have been around in the US since 1988, they are as old as I am. lol
They are produced by Kraft.
They are single serving packaged meals designed to be fun for kids and easy for moms.
Quote:
Geoffrey Bible, former C.E.O. of Philip Morris (prior owner of Kraft Foods), remarked that he read an article that said: "If you take Lunchables apart, the most healthy item in it is the napkin."
What are Bento Boxes?
Bento Boxes as we know them today have been around since the Edo Period in Japan (1603 to 1867).
Bento literally translates as convenient, and has retained it's meaning despite being translated into many different Asian languages.
Bento boxes are single serving meals designed to be convenient.
Often mothers with a lot of time will create very intricate designs with fun shapes and animals, but the standard bento box can be picked up at train stations and take out places throughout Asian countries without extra special shapes and designs.

Make your own Lunchables/Bento/Convenient Meals right at home for less. Save money and sleep well knowing your kids are getting a healthy lunch.
Some container options:
Some tools to make your lunches more fun.
Mini Cookie Cutters
Silicone Muffin Cups
--------------------------------------------------------------
Some lunches just for my kids to get your ideas flowing.
Lunchbots next to a Lunchable (makes that Lunchable look unappetizing and small)
Great ideas!

DeleteWhat amazing post. I am going to include a quote from this post on my own blog and link it back here. And...if even needs to be said, you're convenient lunch is much more appetizing than the Lunchable.
